The Mustang Files #1: A Murder in the Docklands
It's late 1933 in Northport, Ontario, and private investigator E.J. Mustang is looking into the murder of a young labour activist ahead of a massive general strike. The investigation leads him to people from many different layers of Northport society, from the power brokers who drink at the local Officers’ Club to the face of the local communist movement who also happens to be the city boxing champ. As the citizens of Northport’s Docklands band together to fight against corrupt bosses and the local police, Mustang must expose the real reason for Gaby Vargas’ death, and makes more than a few enemies along the way. He also has to learn to navigate his own place in Northport as a queer trans man, army veteran, ex-spy, and the P.I. of choice for the local working class.
